Appointment as Shadow Minister for Justice

I am honoured to be appointed as Shadow Minister for Justice by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Bill Shorten MP.

Serving on Labor’s front bench is a chance to make good public policy and speak up for the millions of Australians who rely on Labor for a fair go.

From ice and other illicit drugs, to fraud, cybercrime, organised crime, corruption, people trafficking and disaster relief, the Justice portfolio deals with a broad range of issues that are critical to keeping Australians safe.

I look forward to working closely with the Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Minister for National Security, the Hon Mark Dreyfus QC MP, who has such a great depth of experience and knowledge of this portfolio.

I acknowledge the outstanding contribution of my predecessor, David Feeney, and I look forward to continuing the good work that he did in this area over the past three years.
